GE15: Anwar continues to rock Perak, Harapan campaign met with enthusiasm state-wide

SHAH ALAM, Nov 15 — Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim continued his tour campaign in nine parliaments in Perak yesterday, amid a strong reception from the public.

Spearheading the coalition’s thrust in the state, Anwar also campaigned in the Sungai Siput parliamentary area, to ensure Harapan will be able to recapture Perak in its state election, which takes place simultaneously with the 15th general election (GE15) this Saturday (November 19).

Speaking at the Mega Ceramah at Sungai Siput, he called on the people to make a wise decision by supporting Harapan’s candidate S. Kesavan, who is facing off against MIC president Tan Sri S A Vigneswaran, and to maintain Harapan’s stronghold there since 2008.

“Only Harapan is able to carry out the duties it has been entrusted with, via various specific agendas related to the economy and the people’s welfare.

“Do not be fooled once more by the promises of BN and PN, which have failed to safeguard the people’s welfare and that of the country,” Anwar said in a Facebook post.

As seen from the images of the campaign, the Harapan tour has been met with enthusiastic support from hundreds of residents in each location it travelled to.

Anwar, who is running for the Tambun parliamentary seat, also travelled to the Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat, which is held by incumbent MP and Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

On Sunday (November 13), Anwar visited six parliamentary seats in Perlis and Kedah, beginning at Kangar and ending at Kulim-Bandar Baharu.

On the last leg of the campaign week, Harapan throughout Perak continues to redouble its efforts in approaching voters.

Anwar is scheduled to attend the Jelajah Mega Harapan Selangor programme at Padang MPAJ AU2 in Taman Keramat, Hulu Selangor, at 8pm this Wednesday (November 16).
