SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — The Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the Puchong parliamentary seat Yeo Bee Yin has reassured its constituents that everyone will be assisted when they are in need, regardless of who they voted for.
In a recent interview with Selangor TV, Yeo stated that she will maintain professionalism and not show favouritism if elected as the MP for Puchong.
“We have to respect the voters and if I win here, I won’t be taking sides. It doesn’t matter who you voted for, I will try to help because I am the representative of this constituency.
“We still have to approach all the local people even though they may not be voting for our party. After the general election, we have to take care of them too, we must win their hearts in the long run.
“We are trying to attract the youth and women groups, but if they choose to support Barisan Nasional (BN) or Perikatan Nasional (PN), we have to respect them,” she said, adding that she hopes to win the voters’ heart in the future.
The Puchong constituency will see a four-cornered fight among the main coalitions. Aside from Yeo, other contenders include Datuk Seri Syed Ibrahim Kader from BN, Chew Jyh Gang (PN) and an independent candidate Kuan Chee Heng
With 152,861 voters, Harapan’s Gobind Singh Deo won the seat with a majority of 47,635 votes in the 14th general election.
