GE15: Rain does not deter Rodziah from visiting locals, use social media during bad weather

AMPANG, Nov 9 — Heavy rain has not hindered Rodziah Ismail from meeting and greeting the locals in Ampang during the 15th campaign period for the 15th general election as she is determined to ensure that Pakatan Harapan reclaims the Ampang parliamentary seat.

Armed with the experience of being a Batu Tiga state assemblyman for three terms, Rodziah does not feel awkward when out greeting the residents.

Instead, she is efficient in finding alternative ways to stay in touch with the people no matter the situation.

When met during her walkabout at the Bandar Baru Ampang night market yesterday, the Selangor state executive councillor said, “At the moment, even if it rains, we still continue our campaign schedules at the night markets.”

“This time, you need to be creative. We will use social media platforms to meet the voters if the situation does not permit usual practices,” she said.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning for more frequent heavy rains and thunderstorms from afternoon to night.

This situation is expected to occur in most states on the west coast of Peninsula, which includes Selangor, beginning yesterday (November 8) until November 11.

Earlier, Rodziah spent time visiting the residents of Pangsapuri Kemboja in Taman Ampang Indah here, to listen to their grouses and needs.

“God willing, I will continue to be courteous in meeting and greeting the people of Ampang,” she said.

Rodziah is contesting against incumbent Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin, who is defending the seat under the Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) ticket.

Also contesting for the seat are MCA Beliawanis leader Ivone Low Yi Wen (Barisan Nasional), Sasha Lyna Abdul Latif (Perikatan Nasional), Nurul Ashikin Mabahwi (Pejuang), Lai Wai Chong (Warisan) and three other independent candidates.
