GE15: Say no to leaders who have betrayed people’s mandate, Ampang folks told

By Zareef Muzammil

AMPANG, Nov 5 — The Pakatan Harapan’s (Harapan) candidate for the Ampang parliamentary seat Rodziah Ismail has called on the voters to reject leaders who have turned their backs against the people’s mandate.

She said any state representatives who disregarded the voter’s trust in the last general election must be rejected.

“This is the time for voters to take responsibility and reject the traitors. Whoever the candidate is, doesn’t matter if they are the incumbent for three terms or a minister, they have no place here,” she said.

She was believed to be referring to the Ampang seat incumbent Datuk Zuraida Kamarudin who won under the Harapan ticket in 2018 but will be contesting under Parti Bangsa Malaysia in the upcoming election.

Rodziah, who is also the state executive councillor for housing, was met after handing over the nomination papers at Dewan Dato’ Ahmad Razali here. She was accompanied by her proposer Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman and seconder Datuk Gerald Hans Isaac.

The Ampang seat will see a nine-cornered fight between Low Yi Wen (Barisan Nasional), Nurul Ashikin Mabahwi (Pejuang), Bryan Lai Wai Chong (Warisan) and Sasha Lyna Abdul Latif (Perikatan Nasional).

Other independent candidates are M Raveendran, Muhammad Shafiq Izwan Mohd Yunos and Tan Hua Meng.
