GE15: Three incumbents challenge original parties on opposing tickets, independents on East Coast

SHAH ALAM, Nov 5 — The incumbent candidates for three seats on the East Coast of the Peninsular seek to defend their respective victories, by using the logos and symbols of parties opposed to the ones they originally contested on to gain those seats, or by contending as Independents.

In Tumpat, Kelantan, incumbent candidate and former PAS leader Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi will contest under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket, facing off against PAS’ Mumtaz Md Nawi and Pakatan Harapan’s Wan Mohd Johari Wan Omar.

In Kuala Nerus, Terengganu, fellow incumbent and former PAS leader Datuk Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali will also contest under the BN ticket in a three-cornered fight against state executive councillor Dr Alias ​​Razak of PAS, and Harapan’s Suhaimi Hashim.

In Bentong, Pahang, Harapan’s Young Syefura Othman will go up against incumbent Wong Tack, who has decided to contest as an Independent after being excluded from candidacy by the coalition. Both will face off against former Bentong MP Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai, representing BN.

  • P019 Tumpat: Incumbent Datuk Che Abdullah Mat Nawi (BN) challenged by Wan Mohd Johari Wan Omar (Harapan) dan Datuk Mumtaz Md Nawi (PAS)
  • P022 Pasir Mas: Datuk Husam Musa (HARAPAN) challenging incumbent Ahmad Fadhli Shaari (PAS) dan Datuk Ab Ghani Harun (BN)
  • P024 Kubang Kerian: Incumbent Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PAS) challenged by Wan Ahmad Kamil Wan Abdullah (Harapan), Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi (BN) and Mohamad Rizal Razali (Pejuang)

Terengganu

  • P035 Kuala Nerus: Incumbent Datuk Dr Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali (BN) challenged by Datuk Dr Alias Razak (PAS) and Datuk Seri Suhaimi Hashim (Harapan)
  • P037 Marang: Incumbent Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang (PAS) challenged by Azhar Ab Shukur (Harapan), Jasmira Othman (BN) dan Zarawi Sulong (Pejuang)

Pahang

  • P089 Bentong: Young Syefura Othman (HARAPAN) challenging incumbent Wong Tack (Independent) and Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai (BN)
  • P090 Bera: Incumbent Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (BN) challenged by Abas Awang (HARAPAN) and Datuk Asmawi Harun (PN)
