SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and two state executive councillors will take leave from their official duties, to focus on the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).
The Menteri Besar’s press secretary said the decision was made on Wednesday (November 2) during the Selangor State Executive Council (MMKN) meeting.
“They will take leave from their official duties or respective duties in the state government, so as to guarantee their responsibilities throughout the duration of GE15,” said the secretary in a statement.
Asides from Amirudin, who is contesting as a candidate for the Gombak parliamentary seat, the others include the state executive councillor for housing Rodziah Ismail and state executive councillor for community welfare V Ganabatirau.
Rodziah will be contesting as a candidate for the Ampang parliamentary seat and Ganabatirau will be contesting as a candidate for the Klang parliamentary seat, respectively.
The Election Commission has set November 19 as the polling day for GE15, while the nomination of candidates will take place tomorrow (November 5), with early voting on November 15.
