Restore mandate of Gombak voters, reject double-crossing leaders

HULU KLANG, Nov 2 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is determined to restore the mandate of Gombak voters who voted for Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the 2018 general election (GE).

The Gombak Parliament candidate called on residents of the area to make the right choice this GE, including rejecting double-crossing leaders.

“We want to restore the dignity of Gombak people, who were unfortunately entangled with double-crossing leadership, and (return) the people’s mandate. So, choose PH, reject betrayers, reject the corrupt and the robbers,” he said in a speech at Skate Park AU5, here last night.

The Selangor PH chairman was also upset following the double-crossing leader’s attacks on the coalition with various baseless accusations.

“During GE [2018], he said choose PH. Choose Keadilan (PKR), choose our DAP (Democratic Action Party) and Amanah friends.

“After winning, we thought we had new allies. Instead, he betrayed us [and] ran off. After running off, he started attacking and making false accusations,” Amirudin said.

The Selangor Menteri Besar is believed to be referring to the actions of Gombak Parliament incumbent Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who shifted his support and subsequently played an instrumental role by joining Perikatan Nasional in overthrowing the PH government in Putrajaya.

In the 2018 general polls, Azmin, who contested on the PH ticket, won by a majority of 48,721 votes in a three-cornered fight.
