Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor to see inclement weather until 10am — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, Nov 21 — Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor are expected to be hit with thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds until 10am today, says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a warning issued at 7.10am, the agency said that other affected areas, namely Penang and Melaka will also see inclement weather.

“Meanwhile, strong weather is anticipated in Kedah (Yan, Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Cameron Highlands) and Negeri Sembilan (Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol and Tampin).

“Same weather conditions are also expected in Sarawak: Bintulu (Bintulu) and Miri (Subis) as well as Sabah: Pantai Barat (Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu dan Tuaran),” it said.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding an hour for a single release.
