Smart Selangor buses begin operation to help LRT users

SHAH ALAM, Nov 10 — The Smart Selangor buses begin their operation today at several main locations to help ease public transport users who were affected by the suspension of the Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Kelana Jaya Line.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the operation was aligned with yesterday’s announcement that the state government will provide 20 buses to cater to the public’s needs after the train’s operation in 16 stations was shut.

“In line with the announcement made yesterday, where the state government will provide 20 buses to help ease the LRT users’ burden, the buses have begun operating at several main locations,” he said on Facebook.

Yesterday, Amirudin said the additional service will be coordinated with RapidKL to avoid overlapping.

Previously, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail) the LRT service between the Kelana Jaya Line to Ampang Park was announced to be suspended for seven days beginning yesterday due to the disruption to the electronic components of the Automatic Train Control System.
