Air Selangor mobilises 85 water tankers to areas in Klang Valley hit by unscheduled water cut

SHAH ALAM, Dec 24 — Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) has mobilised 85 water tankers to the 472 areas in five regions in the Klang Valley that were hit by an unscheduled water disruption this morning.

The agency in a Facebook post said that seven Local Service Centers (PKS) have been activated to facilitate the public in getting water supply assistance.

“A total of 85 water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas to provide water supply assistance to the affected consumers, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals throughout the period of this unscheduled water supply interruption.

“Consumers can refer to https://hentitugas.airselangor.com to get info on PKS locations or other relevant information on this unscheduled water supply disruption incident,” the post read.

Earlier, Air Selangor announced that the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) were temporarily shut down following an odour pollution incident at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.

A total of 472 areas in five Selangor regions are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions starting 7am today, namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas).

The Selangor Water Management Authority (Luas) had identified a fluid spill that occurred in an accident involving a truck carrying a load of perfume oil along the Elite Highway in Negeri Sembilan to have caused the odour pollution detected at the Sungai Semenyih river flow.
