Anwar was not paid as Selangor economic advisor — Juwairiya

SHAH ALAM, Dec 7 — Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had never received any allowance or privileges during his tenure as the Selangor economic advisor.

Menteri Besar’s political secretary Juwairiya Zulkifli said Anwar was only given a symbolic wage of RM1 and the amount was not paid since his appointment.

She stressed that the allegation that Anwar received a payment of RM15 million during his time in office was a slander.

Juwairiya said the state government has repeatedly denied the matter, including providing answers from former Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly.

“Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s allegation towards Anwar when campaigning in Padang Serai is a repeated slander.

“This matter is written in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly hansard through an answer to a query from a state assemblyman,” she said in a statement today.

Juwairiya, who is also Bukit Melawati state assemblyman said the action of slander and false accusation by PN has clearly shown their desperation.

“This proves that PN does not have anything to say and has deviated from the Malay-Islamic political principle.

“I believe that Padang Serai voters should reject PN in the election today because the coalition still chooses to rake in votes by creating lies and slander,” she said, adding that the Prime Minister must take further action.
