Entrepreneurs urged to increase efforts to improve product quality, expand internationally

KLANG, Dec 10 — The Selangor Digital Entrepreneur Roadshow participants are advised to increase their efforts by enhancing product quality to help them enter the global market, says Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

The state executive councillor for investment said that entrepreneurs should strive to market their products that are of higher quality on a global scale.

“The state government would continue providing platforms that would connect the local and foreign entrepreneurs, such as hosting the trade fair and international conference Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS).

“Some of them may think that their products are not good enough for the global market. But with continuing commitment and by having the aim of becoming a successful individual able to market their products internationally, it is definitely achievable,” he said when met after the launch of the fifth series of the 2022 Selangor Digital Entrepreneur Roadshow, here today.

Also present was Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec) chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping.

Meanwhile, Teng said that among the steps that could be taken in improving product quality include ensuring that the packaging and content meet the standards that have been set.

“It is important to have knowledge of growing their business in the e-commerce sector. The entrepreneurs should also be willing to make the necessary upgrades to join the SIBS trade show as it is a business-to-business platform.

“With such improvements, they can then look into other initiatives (offered by the state) such
the Hijrah loan assistance, which can aid to expand their business,” he said.

On Tuesday, Teng announced that the four-day SIBS 2022 recorded the highest potential negotiated sales with a total of RM1.45 billion, compared to the previous edition of RM217.6 million.

He said that the Selangor Industrial Park Expo event recorded the highest amount of RM1.2 billion, followed by the Selangor International Expo (Food and Beverages) with RM171 million.
