SHAH ALAM, Dec 27 — Selangor residents have been urged to use the Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat) programme’s three main advantages.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the state government is wholly sponsoring the treatment costs for individuals suffering from stress and depression.

The Sehat programme, now in its fourth year, helps individuals save up on the duration of treatment sessions, as well as including public and private clinics.

“This is the fourth year the state government has continued the Sehat programme, which has received a RM1 million allocation, to that end.

“In 2021, Sehat saw some 50,000 participants via the SELangkah app,” Dr Siti Mariah said in a Facebook video post.

She added that mental health disorders are the second-highest health problem suffered in the nation, which ought to be addressed thoroughly.

The State Government provides a health line to facilitate the public’s access to qualified counsellors.

“As such, I call on the people use this opportunity to get services by calling 1700-82-7537 or 1700-82-7536. A total of 30 certified counsellors are waiting to help you,” Dr Siti Mariah said.
