Happy ending for Bandar Sungai Buaya residents after 24 years of wait

HULU SELANGOR, Dec 4 — Over 50 residents at Bandar Sungai Buaya finally received their land title in conjunction with the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow today.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government will hand over the 5A form to over 3,000 residents in stages until March next year.

“Previously, we already handed over the form to over 200 residents. They have been waiting for 24 years and the state government finally has managed to resolve this issue.

“There will be a few more handovers until March next year as we have to follow the procedures,” he said at a press conference here today.

Bandar Sungai Buaya was originally a Felda area that was de-gazetted under the Land Act (group settlement area) 1960 in 1995.

The cancellation was in line with the request from the land owner who allowed the said area to be developed, however, the appointed developer failed to develop it due to economic recession.
