Hulu Selangor has bulk garbage bins at the ready for Christmas

By Sheeda Fathil

SHAH ALAM, Dec 14 — The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) will provide Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) bins to make it easier for residents to dispose of bulk garbage, in conjunction with the upcoming Christmas festive period.

It said the free service began on December 12 and will run until December 23 in areas under its jurisdiction.

“The bins will make it easier for people to dispose of bulk waste including old furniture and electrical items like wardrobes, sofas, mattresses, beds, refrigerators, radios, televisions, battery chargers, mobile phones and so on, as well as garden waste.

“The RORO bins, with a capacity of three tonnes each, will be placed in stages over a period of eight days, for each area around Hulu Selangor,” MPHS said in a Facebook post.

The council added that domestic waste or kitchen waste will not be permitted for disposal in RORO bins, so as to facilitate the contractor’s collection work.

For further information or any queries on the RORO bin service, please contact the MPHS Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department at 03-6064 1331 or 03-6064 1050.
