SHAH ALAM, Dec 14 — Individuals who are having depression have been urged to seek help by contacting the Selangor Mental Health (Sehat) hotline.
State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said the move would prevent them from resorting to illegal substances such as drugs, alcohol and inhalants.
“The use of prohibited substances to modify or control our mind and emotions would jeopardise ourselves and the people around us.
“Control your emotions and share your feelings with certified counsellors,” she said on Facebook.
Dr Siti Mariah added that the Sehat counsellors could be contacted via the Sehat 24-hour hotline at 1700-82-7536 or 1700-82-753, through the SELangkah mobile app or visit www.drsitimariah.com/sehat.
Since its launch in June, over 300 individuals have contacted the Sehat hotline to share their problems and seek advice from certified counsellors throughout this year.
