SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 —  Application for the shopping vouchers in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration in Pandamaran will be open beginning tomorrow.

Its state assemblyman Tony Leong Tuck Chee said the applicants must meet the set criteria to ensure their eligibility for the RM200 Jom Shopping vouchers.

“Applicants’ income must be below RM2,000 per month and they have to provide their payslips or Employees Provident Fund statement.

“Only one voucher is allocated for each family while the Skim Mesra Usia Emas and the Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) recipients are not eligible to apply.

“The applicants must also provide their copy of identification card (both husband and wife) and for those who have lost their spouses or had divorced, they have to provide the death certificate and divorce letter,” he told SelangorKini.

Tony added that the screening process will begin as soon as the application period has ended, most probably on January 6, next year.

“A thorough vetting process will be done because only 400 vouchers are provided this time, compared to 700 vouchers previously.

“Distribution of the vouchers will be conducted concurrently on January 14, at Giant Bukit Tinggi in Klang,” he added.

In the 2023 Selangor Budget, the state government has allocated RM16.48 million for shopping vouchers in conjunction with various festive seasons, which would benefit some 82,400 recipients.
