SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — Some 14.6 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered to the people of Selangor as of October 15, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said 4.3 million of the adult recipients in Selangor received the complete dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 519,617 doses and 320,909 doses of vaccine were administered to adolescent groups and children, respectively.

“Four million adults, 10,202 adolescents and 266 children received their booster shots. While 155,076 adults and 78 adolescents have received their second booster shots,” he said when answering a query from Sijangkang state assemblyman Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

Amirudin said that the average Covid-19 cases recorded in Selangor were between 1,000 to 2,000 cases a day beginning from Epidemiological Week 35 to 46.

“Based on the registered cases, 95 per cent of the cases were in category two while 4.5 per cent were in category three, four and five.

“Among the factors which contributed to the current Covid-19 situation in Selangor is the high vaccination rate of over 90 per cent, including booster shots,” he added.
