MB hands over half mln flood aid to Kelantan

By Zareef Muzammil

KOTA BHARU, Dec 27 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari handed over a RM500,000 flood donation to the Kelantan state government earlier today.

The #KitaSelangor aid cheque was handed over to Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob as a symbolic gesture since the funds itself was recently channelled to the Kelantan government.

The handover was carried out during Amirudin’s courtesy visit to the Menteri Besar’s official residence in Kampung Sireh. Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah also attended the ceremony

Alhamdulillah, today I was able to personally present the donation to the Menteri Besar of Kelantan in the form of an aid cheque, as mentioned earlier.

“We hope this assistance will help the Kelantan state government in managing the victims affected by the flooding disaster,” he said.

Amirudin added he believes the Kelantan state government has formulated its own plans to use the funds in helping victims.

“They have various focuses, which will most certainly include infrastructure, aid, and so on. As such it is up to them to set their priorities,” he said.

On December 20, Amirudin said the Selangor state government has donated RM1 million to Kelantan and Terengganu, as part of the effort in helping them to manage the floods in those states.

He said the aid is a gesture of sympathy with the plight of the people in Kelantan and Terengganu.
