MBI doubles up efforts to promote free insurance scheme on social media

SHAH ALAM, Dec 14 — The Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI has been intensifying its effort to promote the Insurans Am Selangor (Insan) free health insurance scheme on social media.

Its chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said the move was taken to ensure more people in Selangor will be able to benefit from the state government’s initiative.

“We aim to get six million registrations for the scheme and to achieve the target, various efforts to draw more participants have been carried out, including through our social media platforms.

“Aside from that, if we participate in any programmes as an exhibitor, for instance, the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow, we will include the promotion for the free general insurance scheme too.

“MBI also visited related agencies like government departments and state assemblyman offices, as part of the promotion efforts,” she said.

Earlier on, Norita handed over MBI’s flood disaster donation to the Selangor Social Welfare Department, which was represented by its deputy director Mohd Razuki Sibi.

On August 30, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari announced a total of six million people will be covered by Insan, with the premium costs fully borne by the state government.

He said each registered individual receives up to RM10,000 in coverage, in the event of death, accidents and injuries according to type.

The scheme, with a protection value of RM60 billion, can be registered for until September 30, 2023, by downloading the Wavpay e-wallet app via the App Store or Google Play.
