MPAJ continues lucky draw programme for taxpayers next year

By Shamz Johan

SHAH ALAM, Dec 31 — The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) has said it will continue the MPAJ Assessment Tax Lucky Draw programme for 2023.

The local authority said programmes organised in conjunction with the council’s 30th anniversary have been held every month from March to June for the first term and from September to December (second term) of this year.

“A total of 35 attractive prizes worth over RM 150,000 are offered every month for property owners who pay their assessment taxes according to the period, and who meet participation conditions.

“A total of 280 property owners were selected as winners through the e-raffle system,” MPAJ said in a statement.

Earlier on, the council’s tax revenue report recorded an overall increase of RM 11.3 million for this year, marking increase rate of 12.6 per cent compared to 2021.

The current assessment tax collection for the period of January 1 to November 30 recorded approximately RM 76.5 million, while the collection of assessment tax arrears stood at RM 24.4 million.

The lucky draw is an MPAJ initiative to reward taxpayers who have shown commitment to paying their taxes on time.

Property owners can register at iCOMM and clarify their assessment tax from January 1 to February 28, 2023, so as to continue receiving MPAJ services.

Members of the public can get the latest updates on the lucky draw via MPAJ’s Facebook page or visit the www.mpaj.gov.my.
