KLANG, Dec 11 — Nearly 1,000 entrepreneurs participated in the 2022 Selangor Digital Entrepreneur Roadshow organised by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec).

Its chief executive officer Yong Kai Ping said the total participation involved five series of the event, which were held in Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Petaling, Kuala Selangor and Klang.

“The roadshow aimed to provide some exposure to the digital world aside from assisting local companies that wanted to embark in the e-commerce industry.

“Beginning with only 670 participants in 2020, the roadshow continues to receive good response with nearly 1,000 participants recorded this year,” he said, adding that last year’s event was delayed due to Covid-19.

Kai Ping was met at the fifth series of the event which was officiated by state executive councillor for investment, Dato’ Teng Chang Khim, yesterday.

He continued that positive responses were also recorded for the e-commerce class with over 8,000 entrepreneurs participating in the programme between March and July this year.

“The programme began with 3,000 participants in 15 classes and it has increased 48 per cent to 8,053 participants in 25 classes.

“The increment has proven that Sidec has managed to create more awareness on the importance of digitalisation, particularly to improve their business potential in the market,” he added.
