Over 1,000 people offered jobs at Selangor career fair — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Dec 25 — A total of 1,063 individuals have been employed through the second series of the Selangor Mega Job Fair, which ran on December 10 and 11.

State executive councillor for human capital development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said out of the total, some 747 individuals were employed through direct interviews during the programme that was held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (Maeps) in Serdang.

“While 4,243 individuals have been called for the second round of interviews by the employers. The screening process is still ongoing and hopefully, the participants will succeed and get the job.

“God willing, we will continue to organise the job fair as part of the state government’s effort to keep the unemployment rate below four per cent in Selangor,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

The two-day event offered over 30,000 job opportunities in various sectors, involving 300 renowned companies such as Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional (Proton), Pos Malaysia, Prasarana, Puncak Niaga Holdings, Starbucks, Genting Malaysia and state government’s agencies.
