SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — The state government has introduced the Region Development Plan (Clusterisation) to retain Selangor’s performance as one of the key drivers of the nation’s economy.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative aims to strengthen the area identified by focusing on the standardisation of its facilities and infrastructure.
He said along with the introduction of innovative economic foundations, sustainable resources would also help diversify the region’s economic activities.
“These foundations were then compiled to form the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) which also includes the Integrated Development Region in South Selangor (Idriss) and the Sabak Bernam Development Area (Sabda),” he said.
Amirudin was responding to a question from Semenyih state assemblyman Zakaria Hanafi during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly sitting, here today.
In July, the Menteri Besar tabled the RS-1, which focuses on economic growth, empowerment of the people through welfare programmes, sustainable development as well as good and transparent governance.
