SHAH ALAM, Dec 30 — The assistance of flood victims in Taman Sri Muda last year was one of the important duties of Shah Alam Deputy Mayor Mohd Rashidi Ruslan.

Shah Alam Mayor Nor Fuad Abdul Hamid said the 42-year-old was one of the ‘strongmen’ of the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), who worked tirelessly to help flood victims in the area in 2021.

“He is an officer who is well-liked and respected by all staff. Mohd Rashidi is also always committed to giving his best to MBSA and the people of Shah Alam,” he said in his speech during the ‘Setulus Budi Kenangan Abadi‘ farewell ceremony for Mohd Rashidi, earlier today.

The incumbent Deputy Mayor, who was appointed to the post in January 2019, will serve as Senior Private Secretary at the Ministry of Economy beginning next year.

Close to 500 MBSA employees came out to celebrate his tenure, and earlier on Mohd Rashidi arrived at Dewan Bankuet MBSA with a group riding high-powered Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

A native of Klang, he holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Planning and Development Economics (2005) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

Mohd Rashidi has extensive experience in the fields of land management, local authorities, project management, and budget management.
