AMPANG, Dec 13 — A solution to the landslide incident in Taman Halaman, Ampang, will be presented by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) and the Public Works Department (JKR) to the residents today.

State executive councillor for housing Rodziah Ismail, however, urged residents to constantly monitor and immediately report to authorities if there are any land movements.

“I have asked MPAJ and JKR to find some solutions to strengthen the slope and will present it to the residents on Tuesday (today),” she said when contacted.

According to Rodziah, the fire department and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) will also continue to monitor current situations following bad weather, in addition to maintaining the safety of properties in the houses involved.

On December 9, an elderly woman was among six individuals who survived a nine-metre-high landslide incident at Taman Halaman, Ampang.

In the incident, which happened at about 6.14pm, a cliff measuring approximately nine metres by 15 square metres collapsed and hit the back of two houses with one being an empty house and another occupied.

The fire department then ordered all residents to leave the house temporarily to avoid unwanted incidents.
