State govt allocates RM145 mln to build and improve road system

SHAH ALAM, Dec 15 — The state government has allocated some RM145 million to improve the road connectivity system in Selangor next year.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the funds will be utilised to build new roads and to upgrade existing roads at various locations for the comfort of the people.

“This allocation will ensure a better road connectivity system for the benefit of social and economic activities in the state,” he said on Facebook.

Amirudin said RM40.98 million for the ongoing construction of new roads, including a road connecting Kampung Sri Indah A to Hospital Sungai Buloh (RM10.98 million), a road connecting Sg Kelambu to Genting Sanyen (RM13.5 million), and a road from Kampung Ulu Chuchuh to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (RM16 million).

Other road upgrade works that have been announced in the 2023 Selangor Budget are as follow:

  • Jalan Bukit Rimau (RM12.5 million)
  • T-junction at Jalan Rahidin, Shah Alam (RM4.7 million)
  • Jalan Reko in Hulu Langat (RM1.7 million)
  • Intersection of Jalan Kampung Bukit Dugang, Sepang (RM1.7 million)
  • Road heading to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tiram Jaya, Kuala Selangor (RM3.2 million)
  • Jalan Sungai Panjang from Jalan Kuala Selangor-Teluk Intan to Parit Empat Timur (RM2.3 million)
  • Construction of bridges and overhead bridge (RM11.8 million)
  • Installation of LED street lights (RM3 million)
  • State road gazettement works (RM1.5 million)
  • State road gazettement programme (RM2 million)
