HULU SELANGOR, Dec 5 — The general public, particularly women, are urged to take advantage of the Selangor Saring free health screenings, which are expected to continue in 2023.

Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis) president Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad said that under the programme, the general public could go through a number of health checks, such as physical examinations, blood testing, urine tests, eye exams, cervical cancer screenings, and breast cancer screenings.

“By participating in the screening, we could receive an early assessment of our health and seek additional treatment before the condition worsens and becomes burdensome, particularly from a financial standpoint.

“The state government offers a variety of health screenings to guarantee that the people stays healthy,” she said in a talk show during the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow programme in Hulu Selangor, here yesterday.

The Selangor Saring programme received encouraging support, with about 45,000 people signing up for the effort since it began in May.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme had attracted more than its initial target of 31,000 participants when it ended on September 11.

Following the positive feedback, the state government will continue the initiative by allocating an additional RM1.5 million for Selangor Saring and RM1 million for Selangor Cancer for the next year..
