Three Selangor districts to be hit with flash flood if heavy rains persist

SHAH ALAM, Dec 11 — The Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) has issued a flash flood preparedness notice for three districts in the state should heavy rains persist.

The agency said on Facebook the high risk districts include Sepang, Petaling and Klang.

In Sepang, potential locations to be hit with flash floods are in the Sepang and Dengkil subdistricts as well as nearby areas. 

In Petaling, the areas may involve Batu Tiga, Shah Alam and nearby areas.

Meanwhile, in Klang, high risk areas include Pandamaran, Kapar, Klang subdistrict and nearby areas.

The agency said several areas in Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang and Perak were also forecasted to be hit with similar situations.

The preparedness notice was issued to enable all residents, especially those living in high-risk areas, to be on alert for any possibility of flash floods during that period.
