SHAH ALAM, Dec 23 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a rain and thunderstorm warning in one or two locations in Selangor today and tomorrow.
According to the agency, there will be thunderstorms in the evening while showers in the morning and evening.
“Tomorrow is expected to have early showers and evening thunderstorms. According to forecasts, there won’t be any rain on Sunday throughout the state,” said the agency in a statement shared on the National Disaster Management Agency’s Facebook page.
Several locations in Perak, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Johor, Sarawak, and Sabah were also expected to see rain today morning, according to MetMalaysia.
“Thunderstorms are forecast in several places in Kelantan, Terengganu, Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Sabah and Sarawak in the evening while rain is expected in several locations in Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Johor and Sabah,” it said.
The weather forecast on Saturday expects rain in several areas in Sarawak and thunderstorms in Sabah in the morning while thunderstorms in the evening in several locations in Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan, Johor and Sabah and rain in several places in Sarawak.
“Thunderstorms are expected at night in several areas in Perak and Sabah and showers in Sarawak,” it said.
As for Sunday, several areas in Johor and Sarawak is will see thunderstorms while Sabah will experience morning showers.
Thunderstorms are predicted to occur in several areas in Sarawak and Sabah in the evening and rain in Tawau. At night, rain is predicted in several areas in Sarawak and thunderstorms in several places in Sabah.
The MetMalaysia also said that continuous heavy rain is expected in Pahang namely in Pekan and Rompin, and Johor (Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru) today.
