Tower runner champion shares his achievement with Petaling Jaya mayor

SHAH ALAM, Dec 11 — World tower runner Soh Wai Ching paid a visit to Petaling Jaya mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir at the latter’s office on December 9.

The mayor congratulated Soh, who received sponsorship from the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) on his achievement as being World No 1 in tower running.

“Thank you for flying the MBPJ’s flag at the peak of the world,” he said on Facebook.

Soh also carried along the medals and trophies he won during the tournament that he participated from August to December 2022.

During that period, the 27-year-old runner had won the Germany Towerrunning National Championship, Zagrebcanka 512 Tower Run, YMCA Stair Climb, Base 2 Space in Seattle and Empire State Building Run Up in New York City.

Apart from that, he was also named champion for  Tunnel 2 Towers Tower Climb Tampa in Florida, RNLI Tower Run (London), HCMC Sky Run (Ho Chi Minh City), Dubai Holding SkyRun and MBPJ Tower Run in Petaling Jaya. 

Soh also holds six tournament records from all the championships he has won thus far.
