SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — The water supply recovery in the affected areas has reached 91 per cent as of 3pm today, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

The company said the water supply has been fully restored in Kuala Langat and Putrajaya while it has reached 99 per cent of recovery in Sepang.

“While in Hulu Langat, the water supply recovery stands at 93 per cent and in Petaling Jaya (77 per cent).

“The duration of water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises,” it said on Facebook.

Air Selangor also advises consumers who have and will be receiving water supply to let water from the tap flow until it is clear before daily use.

“We hope that consumers who have received the water supply will use water prudently to ensure that the water supply recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” the company said.

On Saturday (December 24), Air Selangor announced that the Sungai Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi water treatment plants were temporarily shut down following an odour pollution incident at Jenderam Hilir Raw Water Pump Station.

A total of 472 areas in five Selangor regions have been affected by the unscheduled water supply disruptions starting namely Petaling (172 areas), Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (196 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (27 areas).
