SHAH ALAM, Jan 27 — A total of 23 entries for the Ikon Agro Selangor 2022 search has been received by the closing date for applications on January 18.
State executive councillor for agriculture Izham Hashim said the 10 best candidates will be shortlisted and announced on February 6.
“Now we are in the process of reviewing and selecting candidates for the shortlist.
“From this shortlist, we will audit in detail and make related videos for the final evaluation,” he said.
Izham added the Ikon Agro Selangor announcement will be made at the Selangor Agro Fest 2023 programme next March.
On December 13, Izham informed that the third edition of the competition is held in line with making Selangor a food supply centre as well as encouraging more people to be involved in the industry.
Five categories are contested, namely animal farming, aquaculture, crops, agro-based industry and agro-tourism, which offer a cash prize of RM10,000 along with agricultural equipment.
