24 MDSB council members take oath

SHAH ALAM, Jan 6 — The Sabak Bernam District Council (MDSB) has appointed 24 council members for the 2023 term, including five new faces on Tuesday.

Its President Azman Dahlan said out of the total, eight are women.

“Congratulations to all newly-appointed council members, hopefully their appointments may yield fresh and good ideas, as well as giving strong support to our management and administration.

“I hope we can all work together as a team and be responsible in ensuring MDSB plans can be executed with transparency, in addition to working hard towards a sustainable township,” he told SelangorKini.

Previously, state executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han announced 272 councillors have been appointed under 12 local councils for the 2023 term.

Out of the total, 28 pct or 76 members are women councillors.
