SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — The management of Lily & Rose Apartment has been asked to build an effective drainage and drain system to avoid landslides.

Bandar Utama state assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the construction is necessary so that the Taman Mayang Jaya residential area in Petaling Jaya would not experience a repeat of similar incidents.

“The apartment management is responsible for ensuring that the drainage and drain systems are effective. This is to avoid landslide occurrences,” she said in a Facebook post.

Last Friday (December 30), Jamaliah together with the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) councilor Sakinah Bibi Nagoor, the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) and the apartment management conducted an inspection of the apartment’s back fence which collapsed due to heavy rain, recently.

She added that all stakeholders have been informed for the coordination of communication and work responsibilities so that the problem can be resolved.

“I have called all parties involved to hold an integrated meeting. In addition, I will also ensure that the DID project will be carried out as early as possible to rehabilitate the area,” she said.
