Concrete platform construction to prevent accident risks at garbage dump — State rep

By Suhaila Shahrul Annuar

SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — A concrete platform will be built at the garbage disposal site along Jalan Sasaran-Bukit Kuching in Kuala Selangor, so as to prevent the risk of road accidents on the road.

Bukit Melawati state assemblyman Juwairiya Zulkifli said the decision was reached through a survey she carried out with KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM), the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) and the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) yesterday.

“We have collectively discussed it, and the residents have agreed to maintain the location of the rubbish bin here. We only need to improve this area for the safety of those seeking to dispose of waste, as well as road users.

“To this, an agreement was reached to solve the problem by providing a concrete platform so it would be safer for garbage trucks to collect garbage without disturbing road traffic.

“This is due to complaints we received whenever a lorry stops in the middle of the road to pick up garbage, as it endangers other road users,” she said in a Facebook post yesterday.

Juwairiya added the concrete platform will be made by KDEBWM, who will also new and better garbage bins.

“I hope this will make it easier for residents in the nearby villages, solving problems and concerns regarding the garbage issue on this route, especially when it concerns accident risks and vehicle damage,” she said.
