Hijrah loans for all races, traders asked to apply for aid — Exco

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Jan 13 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor (Hijrah) is offering capital loans to all traders, especially small and medium-sized industrial entrepreneurs, to help develop their products, said state executive councillor for entrepreneurial development Rodziah Ismail.

She said all schemes are open to traders, regardless of race and religion, but applicants must comply with the set conditions.

“At the start, Hijrah offered loans at a small amount but has now reached RM100,000. Alhamdulillah, many have been granted this opportunity, and we seek to ensure the people receive such benefits.

“We want to see people of various races enjoy this assistance. Selangor implements this concept for everybody, and hope all traders will seize the opportunity,” Rodziah told SelangorKini.

The councillor was visited by delegations from the World Industrial Association and the International Strategic Institute, at the State Secretariat Building earlier today.

During the two-hour ceremony, some 50 delegation members heard more information about Hijrah’s schemes.

First established in 2015, Hijrah has assisted approximately 55,834 entrepreneurs at a cost of RM710 million (as of November last year), which includes for business capital and company growth.

The 2023 Selangor Budget tabled by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari on November 25 allocated RM130 million for Hijrah to improve its schemes and help the development of entrepreneurs.
