KDEBWM: 5,028 tonnes of bulk wastes collected in areas under three local councils during CNY

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

SHAH ALAM, Jan 22 — KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) has collected a total of 5,028 tonnes of bulk waste within two weeks in areas under the jurisdiction of three local authorities.

Its managing director Dato’ Ramli Mohd Tahir said the collection of bulk waste includes 875 locations in Klang, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam during the Chinese New Year festive season.

“The process of collecting bulk waste is conducted as usual in each area under the local councils but the Roll On Roll Off (Roro) bins are provided only during festive seasons. The focus of bulk waste collection would be carried out in areas where the majority of the residents are celebrating the festival.

“In these three areas, since early January, a total of 3,352 trips were made with a cumulative amount of 5,028 tonnes of waste collected,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

Ramli said that as in several other areas, the local councils would sort out the waste collection during the Chinese New Year period.

“Discussions were held to identify the areas that needed bulk waste collection during the festival, and we always ensure that we can provide the best service,” he added.
