MBSA to ready bulk garbage bins in 362 locations for CNY

By Sofia Nasir

SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will provide free Roll-On-Roll-Off (RORO) bulk waste bins at 362 locations for the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations.

It said the preparation of the RORO garbage bins with a capacity of three tons began yesterday and will go on until January 16.

“Each RORO bin will be placed for a period of seven days at each location. The bins will be withdrawn earlier than the set time period once they have been found to be filled up.

“The waste that can be disposed of in the bins includes used furniture like cupboards, tables, beds, mattresses, and so on.

“For risky waste like iron or glass, it should be packed or wrapped well before disposal to avoid injury to the waste collection operator,” MBSA said in a Facebook post.

For further reference, please consult the waste management procedures at this link.

Any inquiries regarding the RORO bin service can be made by contacting MBSA’s Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department at 03-55105133 ext 1239/1316/1547/1645/1695/1697.
