MBSJ celebrates MPPs in appreciation of their community services

SUBANG JAYA, Jan 16 — In appreciation of the commitment given, the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) celebrated 24 residents representative council members (MPP) in its administrative area during the MBSJ Vibrant Community Awards 2022 ceremony last night.

The programme, which was attended by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and Subang Jaya Mayor Dato’ Johary Anuar was held at Sunway Resort Hotel, here.

During the event, an awards ceremony was held to honour MPPs who were successful in the categories they competed in.

They took home prizes which totalled to over RM600,000.

There were eight categories contested, namely, The Best MBSJ MPP Community Programme Award 2022; The Best MBSJ MPP Indenture Project Management Award 2022; The Best MBSJ MPP Green Neighbourhood Award 2022 as well as The Best MBSJ MPP Apartment Environment Programme and Village Adoption Award 2022.

In addition, there was also The Best MBSJ MPP Administrative Management Award 2022; MBSJ MPP Best Apartment and Village Adoption Award 2022; MBSJ Best Area Officer Award 2022 and Best Overall MPP Award 2022.

Johary in his speech said MBSJ MPP was established on February 19, 2001 and it was the first local authority to implement the initiative.

He said the MPP consists of community representatives who voluntarily cooperate with the MBSJ election machinery and are the eyes and ears of the community, thus helping to empower services to the community.

“MPP also plays a role in helping MBSJ succeed in various social activities that are in line with MBSJ’s direction towards the formation of a sustainable city.

“As a sign of appreciation and encouragement for the commitment and cooperation given, MBSJ is pleased to give recognition to the MPPs as a motivation to carry out their duties,” he said.
