Men’s team players wins Selangor international youth golf tournament

PETALING JAYA, Jan 8 — National men’s team players wins the 2023 Selangor International Junior Golf Championship which took place at Seri Selangor Golf Club here.

Muhammad Hariz Muhummad Hezri, Nor Haqiem Hadi, Muhammad Ajmal Amin and Syed Nor Ismail managed to defeat the South Korean team by collecting 683 points in total.

Meanwhile, the women’s team category was won by South Korea with each taking home the Raja Muda Selangor trophy.

The overall male champion was won by Wang Yixiang from China who managed to get a slot for the Selangor Masters Golf Tournament.

The overall women’s champion is held by Yiji Park from South Korea who also has the opportunity to participate in the 119th Malaysian Open Golf Championship.

The championship trophy was presented by His Royal Highness the Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah. Also present were state executive councillor for sports Khairuddin Othman and Selangor State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim.

A total of 105 youth players between the ages of 12 and 18 competed in the tournament which opened from January 5 to January 8.

The tournament organised by UUM International School Melaka (UUMISM) in collaboration with the Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) involved players from Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia for the group category.

While the individual category includes players from India, Canada, Hong Kong, China, Japan and Malaysia.
