KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 — Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has congratulated broadcast personality Suhaimi Sulaiman on his appointment as the new Broadcasting director-general.
In a Facebook post, Fahmi said Suhaimi who has extensive experience in administration and broadcasting had served with the Sarawak Media Group, the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), Astro Awani and Media Prima.
“InsyaAllah, with his expertise, he will continue to drive excellence and boost the Department of Broadcasting Malaysia,” read the post.
Suhaimi, 61, holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Portland State University, Portland, Oregon, United States, and a Master of Business Administration from City University, Bellevue, Washington, United States.
He has held several key positions in broadcasting and journalism including as CEO and editor-in-chief of TV news channel Astro Awani in 2017 and Bernama chairman in 2020.
