MPK records over RM280 mln in revenue, increase of 109 pct

KLANG, Jan 31 — The Klang Municipal Council’s (MPK) has recorded a total of RM282.4 million in revenue collection for last year, compared to its target of achieving RM258.3 million.

Its President Noraini Roslan said this marked an increase by 109 pct, and indicated the total revenue last year continues when compared to 2021, which stood at RM257.4 million.

“As of December 2022, the total revenue stands at approximately RM282.4 million, a performance achievement of 109 per cent compared to MPK’s annual budget of RM258.3 million.

“To compare, the council’s total revenue on December 31, 2022, increased by RM24.8 million or 10 per cent. This is in comparison to its total revenue on December 31, 2021, which was at RM257.4 million,” she said during MPK’s first Council Meeting for 2023, earlier today.

Similarly, Noraini said the council recorded RM246.6 million in terms of expenditure, a performance achievement of 81 per cent compared to the annual budget of RM305.1 million.

“The total expenditure as of December 31 last year increased by RM7.3 million, or three per cent, compared to the total expenditure on December 31, 2021, which stood at RM239.3 million,” she said.
