SEPANG, Jan 4 —The Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) will be upgrading and building several infrastructures within the district including improving the drainage system to avoid flood risk.

Its president Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain said among the infrastructures that will be built are the public market in Sungai Pelek with an allocation of RM12 million and the community hall in Kota Warisan (RM4 million).

“Apart from that, some RM500,000 have been set aside to upgrade community clubs and RM1 million of allocation will be utilised to upgrade drains in Putra Prima, thus, reducing the risk of floods.

“Not just that, the building of the MPSepang tower will also take place and the location will be updated later,” he said when met after the swearing-in ceremony of MPSepang councillors for the 2023 term.

Abd Hamid also informed that apart from the Integrated Development Region In South Selangor (Idriss), there is another high-impact project comprising 3,307 acres of land that is being built and in the approval process.

“The project consists of housing, commercial and industrial development including Hartalega NGC Sdn Bhd glove manufacturing plant, which spans 97 acres of land and the construction of homes in Bandar Serenia Phase 3 (666 acres).

“Those projects will impact the development growth in Sepang in the future,” he said.

Idriss is among the agenda contained in the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) announced last July to develop Sepang and Kuala Langat worth RM1 trillion.
