New lineup of national sepak takraw team sent to NSC

SHAH ALAM, Jan 17 — The Malaysian Sepaktakraw Association (PSM) has sent its new lineup of players and coaching staff to the National Sports Council (NSC) for scrutiny to ensure a strong team can be formed.

Its president Datuk Mohd Sumali Reduan said the reshuffle would give the national squad a new lease of life and ensure they could do well in important championships like the Cambodia SEA Games and Asian Games this year.

“I cannot share much except to say the revamped list of coaches and players was sent to NSC a few days ago. I can assure you that 50 per cent of the coaching and player structure would be changed.

“It is up to them (NSC) to decide on the new contracts,” he said.

Mohd Sumali was speaking to reporters after attending the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), PSM, Muezza Education Group Sdn Bhd and Persatuan Pengusaha & Penggerak Industri Drone (MyDrone) here today.

On June 7 last year, Azhar Sarabini was appointed as the head coach of the new men’s squad at a Supreme Committee meeting of the Malaysian Sepak Takraw Confederation (MSC).
