In a warning issued at 4pm on Facebook, the agency said the districts include Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang.

“Similar weather conditions are also anticipated in Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman) and Pahang (Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin).

“Other states to see inclement weather are Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan (Seremban and Port Dickson) and Johor (Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Bahru).

“Meanwhile in East Malaysia, stormy weather is forecasted in Sarawak: Mukah (Mukah), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang as well as Sabah: Pantai Barat (Putatan),” it said.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding an hour for a single release.
