Pipe burst: Water restoration at 59 pct

By Sulyn Chong

SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — The water supply recovery in the affected areas has reached 59 per cent as of 7am today, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

“The duration of water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location and distance of consumer’s premises,” said the company in a Facebook post.

Air Selangor also advised consumers who have and will be receiving water supply to allow water to run clear before daily use.

“We hope consumers will use water prudently to ensure that the water supply recovery process in the affected areas runs smoothly as scheduled,” it said.

Previously, the agency said the pipe burst incident had caused unscheduled water cuts in several areas in Gombak and Kuala Lumpur.

Among the affected areas in the Gombak include Taman Ampang Indah, Taman Ampang Jaya, Taman Ampang Utama, Taman Bukit Indah, Taman Dagang Permai and Taman Kosas.

While in Kuala Lumpur, the areas hit include Bukit Bandaraya, Bukit Bangsar, Brickfields, Taman Lucky, Taman Bandaraya and Taman Bangsar.

Affected consumers can refer to all Air Selangor’s official communication channels such as the mobile application, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter or call the Contact Centre at 15300.

Inquiries and complaints can also be submitted at the Help Centre via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor application.
