SHAH ALAM, Jan 1 — Repair works due to a pipe burst incident at Bukit Indah Industrial Park, Sungai Buloh, has been taking place since 9am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the process is expected to cause an unscheduled water supply disruption in 83 areas in Gombak and Kuala Lumpur.

“Among the affected areas in the Gombak region include Taman Ampang Indah, Taman Ampang Jaya, Taman Ampang Utama, Taman Bukit Indah, Taman Dagang Permai and Taman Kosas.

“While in Kuala Lumpur, several areas were affected including Bukit Bandaraya, Bukit Bangsar, Brickfields, Taman Lucky, Taman Bandaraya and Taman Bangsar.

The repair works are expected to be fully completed by 10pm today and water supply will be distributed in stages to consumers’ premises once the repair works have been completed,” it said on Facebook.

In the meantime, Air Selangor said water tankers have been mobilised to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funerals during the unscheduled water supply disruption.

“The duration of the water supply recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the distance of the consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system,” said Air Selangor.
