RM30,000 in equipment aid to be continued to uplift entrepreneurial productivity — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — The assistance grants for business equipment via the Selangor Micro Entrepreneur Fund (DUMS) will continue this year, said state executive councillor for entrepreneur development Rodziah Ismail.

She said up to RM30,000 in financial assistance for entrepreneurs is one of the initiatives to increase the marketing productivity and sales revenue of micro-entrepreneurs in Selangor.

“In addition, we will continue with the training programme, improvement of product packaging and product promotion of micro-entrepreneurs as part of the endeavour to empower this category.

“They will not only be able to promote themselves nationwide but can be expanded abroad by participating in overseas expos, helping Selangor micro-entrepreneurs penetrate the markets there,” Rodziah told SelangorKini yesterday.

First introduced in 2021 to help Selangor’s small traders increase their operational productivity, DUMS also helps to ease their capital burden in purchasing business equipment.

The councillor added that collaboration between Federal, state and private agencies has also been implemented to help with training programmes and product promotion for Selangor entrepreneurs, both domestically and abroad.

“The collaboration involves various agencies like the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Development (Kuskop), the Malaysian Small and Medium Enterprises Corporation (SME Corp) and the National Institute of Entrepreneurship (Insken).

“Other agencies and bodies include Selangor Digital Economy Information Technology Corporation (Sidec), the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (Matrade),” she said.
