SHAH ALAM, Jan 22 —  The search for participants in the Selangor Women’s Conference (Siwanis) 2023, which aims to develop and uncover female leadership talents, particularly at the decision-making level, is now open until January 24.

Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS) said that the Selangor State Legislative Assembly’s simulation programme, Siwanis 2023, enables women to learn the protocols, procedures, and ideas of the sitting directly from professionals or individuals with relevant experience.

“It is a platform for exchanging knowledge and building leadership skills in the direction of the 30 per cent quota for women’s representation in decision- and policy-making.

“Efforts would be made to bring forth commendable proposals to be formally debated at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly,” the agency said on Facebook.

The agency added that the conference would focus on issues related to the empowerment of women, children and families as well as access to education.

“Other issues include those relating to single and stay-at-home mothers, employment and cost of living, health and safety, as well as law and social justice.”
